Poll question: Should the VP bring heft on Economics or National Defense?
Originally I was thinking that it would be better to have a VP like Wes Clark to give Obama more heft on national security, foreign affairs and Iraq. But now with the economy in the tank and most Americans more concerned with their pocketbooks than Iraq I am thinking that Obama needs to pick someone who knows economics.
9. Will voters vote their interests or their fears?
That's a better way to sum up this poll. I think the Obama campaign will ask this question to help them choose their V.P.. It looks like Obama is trying shore up his national security creds with this ongoing national debate through the media with McCain on Iraq and terrorism. If it continues going well for Obama, he might feel okay picking Sebelius.
2. I think national defense because I'm scared to death that hrub is going to attack Iran by Sept.
If did that in Sept. if we don't have a very strong defense person on our ticket, we're screwed! I'm positive most of the people will go to McNuts because of his former military experience, wrong as that may be.
We all know his military/diplomacy/national security credentials but he also taught economics at West Point and holds a degree in economics from Oxford.
He also has degrees in philosophy and political science from Oxford. He's a very, very smart man and deep and humble. I really wanted him to be President.
8. I voted other. It would be great to have someone who could reach both.
I think there are other things to factor in as well.
My VP picks go in this order:
1.) Hillary Clinton (In my opinion she is by far the best pick for VP) 2.) John Edwards (not a lot of foreign policy experience but a great campaigner. Brings a lot to the table. My number 2 pick) 3.) Joe Biden (what can I say. It's Biden. I would perfectly understand if he were the nominee.
My least favorite right now is Webb. For many reasons. Oh, and Hagel and Nunn are obviously no good.
I think Obama has a pretty solid grasp on the economics aspect. I realize that Obama has an educational background in terms of studying political science and international relations, but someone with some foreign policy/military experience would help a great deal.
