Veepstakes: Gen. Jim Jones
I always thought it was baloney, this guy as Obama's veep, because Jones is a McCain guy. Here is a little confirmation today:

A few days ago, sources leaked the name of Gen. James Jones as possible Obama veep pick. Well, it seems we can scratch that. Yesterday at his speech in Missouri, McCain said this, according to prepared remarks: “We have some distinguished guests here today. And one of them is a son of Missouri who went on to become our Supreme Allied Commander in Europe -- my friend, General James Jones.” The Washington Post notes that Jones even “flew on McCain's plane from Washington to the event, and a McCain aide said Jones was a backer of the Arizona senator.”</blockquote>

1. I agree it's baloney. Wanna know my conspiracy theory? (You'll probably like it)
When the long list of possible Obama veeps came out, two names were conspicuously absent -- Bill Richardson and Wes Clark.

Now, this list was one passed around to congressional Dems and other bigwigs to gauge their response to the resumes of the individuals on the list.

But what if the Obama camp wanted to keep their actual likely VP pick a secret from the McCain camp, and so instead of putting out the actual name, they tapped someone with a very similar resume (from a southern, midwest state ... in charge of a multinational military command), got the feedback on that, and then applied it their actual candidate? That way, they can get the feedback on their real candidate without tipping their hand to the McCain camp.

Hence -- Obama/Clark

6. I don't think that a guy with "Hussein" as a middle name needs a Jim Jones on the ticket
all things considered, particularly, the ignorance of a lot of americans. I can just hear it now "A muslim and a cult leader!"
