Obama Goes Up With First General Election TV Ad
Edited on Thu Jun-19-08 11:30 AM by TeamJordan23
And so the fun begins...

60-second spot called “Country I Love” focusing on his background as a community organizer.

This patriotic ad, in which Obama says he was raised with "values straight from the Kansas heartland," is a reminder of the resources Obama will be able to put behind telling his own story his way, centered on the "deep and abiding faith in the country I love."

Responsibility is a central theme of the biographical ad: His own bootstrap story, and his support of policies including welfare-to-work. At the center of it is the Americanness of his life, and a tacit combat against this notion -- perhaps the central challenge to his campaign -- that he's "other." His foreign father isn't mentioned.

The release of this first general election ad -- airing in Alaska, Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Indiana, Michigan, Missouri, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, and Virginia -- will also change the subject from campaign finance.

2. Great introduction for those who are just beginning to pay attention...
And reintroduction for those who have been misled about who he is.

6. Awesome!
A good honest ad.

McCain lies about his sudden standing up to Bush and Climate change.

Obama talks to the heart.

PISS YOUR PANTS MCCAIN!

11. Fantastic!
Time to start making McCain spend some dough in some of those states that he thought were safe in order to counter.

12. I just saw a McCain ad last night - in CALIFORNIA

Why in the world is McSame running TV ads in California? Isn't that just a huge waste of money?

It was touting his credentials as a maverick... :eyes:

15. Good! This ad is EXACTLY what he needs.
Smart move by Obama. He needs to tell HIS story first and define himself in the public's eye. That is exactly what this is doing. Way to go!

yes we can
