Knowledge is power: John Kerry's Purple Hearts

Those who are attacking John Kerry's military record are counting on YOUR ignorance of military matters in their disinformation campaign. I'm sure you've heard some right-winger say that John Kerry's injuries were "treated with a band-aid" or that he was not hospitalized for his injuries. These people will do anything in their power to diminish Kerry's wounds and claim he does not deserve the three Purple Hearts he was awarded.

Bullshit. He earned them. To arm yourself with knowledge, I recommend learning what the criteria is for being awarded a Purple Heart. You can read about it at The Military Order of The Purple Heart's web page. See for yourself what kind of wound is eligible. And yes, even a self-inflicted wound is, as long as the wound occurred as a result of combat. Remember, the criteria is based on the circumstances of how the wound was received, not the severity. Severity isn't even a factor.

I got into a 'brawl' with some nitwit on a soap opera discussion board (of all places) over Kerry and those Swiftboat liars. I felt inadequate but luckily 95% of the other people on the board are Kerry supporters and we managed by banding together to decimate the idiot's argument.}( We got the argument won shortly before the moderator had to remove the thread because it got too hot.
