I think you might be right.

They did it once, would they suddenly start playing by the rules? The things they want to accomplish are already underway, do you think they'd let it all fall apart? They have tons of money & influence, do you believe they would refrain from using it? And worst of all, they think they have God on their side, so the end, in their belief system, justifies the means.
