What I don't get about the Obama public financing dust-up.
I remember seeing this on firedoglake.com several months ago: Why the fuck aren't Obama and Biden pointing out McCain's illegal machinations
related to public financing???????? Numerous activists have even filed official complaints to the FEC about this, complains which a broken
GOP FEC can't or won't investigate and prosecute. I don't get it. :shrug:

********************************************
Sign the McCain FEC Complaint Letter

By his own admission, John McCain is breaking the law. His latest spending report has him $4 million over the limit he imposed on himself when he accepted public financing.

We're not about to let this stand, so on Tuesday we filed an FEC complaint against the McCain campaign (check out the video of delivery to the right). Now we're set for a second larger delivery of 30,000 signatures of Americans who won't stand by while John McCain breaks the law.

The list of people who have already signed includes:

* Markos Moulitsas
* Jane Hamsher
* Matt Stoller
* John Amato
* Howie Klein
* Christina Siun O'Connell
* Matt Bowner Hamlin
* Tom Hayden

2. The republican strategy is to attack Obama for anything he does or doesn't do.
It's that easy.

This time, it's "he broke his promise". And hope he breaks another.

Or flip-flop in the John Kerry tradition.

And folks, get over it. They will continue to criticize and denigrate Obama forever.

4. I'm NOT a bit surprise at the GOP attacks, I AM surprised that Obama isn't hitting back hard
by simply pointing out McCain's criminal campaign financing... end of story.

What McCains doing is worse than a flip flop, it's CRIMINAL. Why the fuck
isn't this being shouted from the Obama rooftops?

6. Exactly. I believe what McCain did was far worse than a flip flop
at least according to firedoglake.com's petition campaign on this.

9. That follows one of Rove's most famous tactics
Accuse your opponent of the wrongdoing that you yourself are guilty of.

7. MSM, MSM, MSM the evidence is there the MSM doesn't have
guts or the talent to research a story on their Golden Boy McSame. Obama shouldn't have to spoon feed the lazy assed MSM.

They are looking for dirt on Obama, folks if this is all they got that Obama changed his mind and he is going to break ALL money making records for a candidate....Then they are in big trouble...

11. Yes, i quite agree Barack shouldn't have to spoon-feed the M$M, but that's what it's come to.
Esp when McCain campaign doesn't mind dishing up an endless toxic "all you can eat" buffet of these patently over-blown smears on Obama

10. So THAT's NOT a story that any media worth it's salt would be jumping all over?
Edited on Sun Jun-22-08 07:49 PM by Impeachment_Monkey
I'd say it's much MORE of a coverage-worthy now, what with McCain's initial crime and then the GOP's
dysfunctional executive dept. that "can't do anything" about it. Hello 60 Minutes!!! Hello KO!!

Meanwhile the M$M drones on about Barack "not keeping promises". It's ludicrous in the extreme.
