Edited on Thu Aug-19-04 11:11 PM by devrc243
these swiftboat liars really should hold their head in shame. They do nothing to help their fellow veterans by bashing one of their own.

Sad...really sad that they allow an AWOL national guard member to define their service. Guess they really could care less about being a veteran. With soldiers like this, I fear for our safety--so easy to be bought off...sad...really sad...:(

1. Yup. One long black wall, 58,000 names of the dead
30+ years later and its still not enough to bury the blight of VietNam. We will never get away from this war or the war in Iraq.
Sickening.

2. The more Vietnam is the issue, the more voters think QUAGMIRE in Iraq
The more the focus is on Vietnam stories, the more Bush loses on two fronts: lack of service and quagmire.

Iraq is looking like a quagmire more and more. It has now exceeded in length the duration of US involvement in WW1.

3. I disagree. The bad newss from Iraq will eventually filter in,
but right now the neo-cons are preventing any news getting out. One journalist killed already for taking a damn picture and the others told to get out or be killed, etc. Which reminds me, I need to check in and see what Al Jazeera is saying. This is what its come down to. Having to get our news from foreign sources. In the meantime, a dialogue about the Vietnam war is long overdue. This country will be better for it. The hurt goes deep in many lives. Maybe this will get some people to talking about it instead of keeping it all inside.

4. After two draft dodgers in the White House, we might get a true Viet Vet.

5. I think building up hysteria around Kerry is a smoke screen, by
Republicans, to keep the public's eyes off of what's really going on elsewhere. Umm, like IRAQ?! The economy, etc etc.....

I can hardly get a single bit of info from mainstream media on anything else but the Kerry smear and Scott Petersen and the Olympics. I shudder to think what the "swing" voters are getting....
