3. We wouldn't do most of the crap those thugs do.

Maybe we need to learn to go against our better instincts, though. I'm feeling like kicking GOP ass this morning. The constant lying from the right is just disgusting.

4. My grandfather would never do stuff like this
the reason I mentioned him - because he was on a PT boat back during the South Pacific. Now if you asked him if he was on THAT PT boat (the one that John F. Kennedy was on), he'd probably growl at you some and talk about those 'damn kennedys'.

But he would never sign up for a smear campaign against Kennedy ESPECIALLY since he never served on THAT PT boat

10. I know, it is
It's like a child throwing tantrums -- once it works for them, they keep doing it. "Willie Horton" worked for them. The smears against McCain worked for them. "Al Gore is a Liar" worked, and then "Max Cleland is soft on terrorists" worked.

Now they're really pushing it, going way over the line, and it's time for it NOT to work!! If they win this way this year, with this level of slime, where will it ever end?!

It's time for the disgruntled vets to get OVER the anti-military sentiment they faced when they came back from Vietnam and stop looking for a scapegoat! It's time for the country to heal from that time. And it's WAY past time for these smear campaigns to backfire.

8. Yes and no
Most pubbies are idealists who think the human race has been perfected to the point that we no longer need gummint to keep individual members honest, especially in the business world. They think racism and sexism are things of the past, and that hard work is a sure guarantee to success. Talk about idealism!

That their leadership are a pack of liars who think the means justify the end of recreating the old European aristocracy in the new world is lost on them. Idealism is like that.

Let's face it, Democrats are equally capable of armtwisting and other power games, but they also know we're a flawed people who are going to need gummint in an adversarial position to the rich and powerful so that the American people can get something approximating a fair shake.

That should be the real difference between the two parties. Let's hope Kerry can get that point across.

9. Most Republicans "think racism and sexism are things of the past"?
Have you read any right wing forums online or talked to some of them? Many of them are living proof that racism and sexism aren't things of the past. :)

13. Well, of course they're racist, sexist pigs
But we all know they never take personal responsibility for anything and have zero insight. Only other people are capable of being that sort of thing, never themselves.

12. This is what they did to McCain and Cleland
I think most people are starting to see a pattern of behavior here. And many long time republicans are giving up on Bu$h in total disgust.

Like Kerry said yesterday, "Bring it on".

This will go down has Rove's biggest political mistake. These folks who are so concerned about Kerry's fitness to be CIC, just left AWOL wide open on the issues of fitness and military service.

We all know that when it comes to responding to a real emergency like 9-11, Kerry won't just sit there in a 2nd grade classroom, trying to figure out what to do.

14. The smear campaign
against Max Cleland was a clear signal that a collective mental derangement had settled into the brains of some segments of the American people. It goes so far beyond :freak:

What I DON'T GET is how all of these guy weren't "Malkined" the second they opened their slimy lying traps. *Media ratings, I guess... All this absurd hoopla keeps the real horrors of the millions upon millions getting screwed by the *predators off the front pages.
