Bush made Kerry/Vietnam an issue 1st, now Kerry must make Bush/Vietnam an
issue.

NOW, right NOW, would be the perfect time for Kerry to come out swinging about Bush's 'record' on service in Vietnam, saying that Bush's front-organization put it on the table FIRST, so now let's discuss Bush's 'service' during that time.

Why not? No time in the campaign will be more perfect than right NOW.

1. it will never happen. the media whores don't want to talk about AWOL.
Its a bait and switch thing. Put all the focus on Kerry and anti-war protesters of the 1970's and you never have to talk about champaign units.

The only thing that will win this election for us is that a large portion of the nation is pissed off enough at Bush that they vote for Kerry.

Anything else beyond that is bulls**t.

4. That is the entirely the fault of the Dems!!!
They have to be as aggressive as the Republicans. And as ruthless. Even the latest ad from the Dems doesn't call Bush a "deserter" or even say he was "AWOL". It just claims Bush "Went Missing". IF you want the media to bite you have to give them something to eat!

5. yes they do, sadly however...
...aggressiveness doesn't come naturally to liberals or Dems. That was the genius of Dean's campaign. He had all the aggressiveness of the GOP but all of the sensibilities of a liberal. But then the DLC came and ended all that fun.

Kerry has that aggressiveness, he just seems to hold it in check until he's behind in the polls. Its a really weird habit, IMO. We won't see his true drive and aggression until Bush is raping him.

The Dems need to get on this thing and run with it. Talking points are easy to manipulate but for some reason the leaders of the Dems don't quite get that idea.

2. He should turn it 'round on Bunnypants--when BP brings up Vietnam,
the Dems should stress that there are TWO wars going badly NOW; complete with body bags and dismembered limbs.

3. I really don't know what to think

They are so dirty that they will stoop at anything.

It is going to really get ugly because they know they are behind.
They are desperate and they will do Anything.

6. I agree and it should be done
There are many unanswered questions regarding Bush's "service" in the national guard.

7. Why is your suggestion even being questioned?
Do you mean to tell me that there are people on this board, Democrats, who have seen what has happened to Kerry in the past weeks and STILL think we shouldn't fight back? They have lied and dishonored our candidate. He tried it your way for weeks, taking the high road. IT DIDN'T WORK. I can not believe that any DUer, knowing the facts are completely on our side, does not want Kerry to bring up *'s military "service." Who cares what the media wants to talk about? They will never be fair to us, so we might as well TRY to set the agenda. Jeez.....
