We Are Locked In A Manichean Struggle.....
The Republicans will do anything to hold on to power. No lie is too big. No smear is too great.... No attack is beyond them. ... They are the face of evil....

The attacks on John Kerry are proof that power is the most important thing to the Republicans. More important than truth... More important than honor... More important than the American way.....

I was too young for the Viet Nam War... I often ask myself what would I have done. Would I have went to college to get a deferment? Would I have tried to get in the Guard and all but escape the risk of combat? Would I have had the courage to become a conscientious objector? Or would I have just went?

I thank God I never had to make that decision...

George Bush played it safe and entered the Guard but lets his minions attack a man who risked his life for his country...

Have you no shame....

We should all heed Jefferson's admonition "that I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just."

I have never been so angry in my life... It's hard to work, eat, or think.....

1. And if they lose - they will be doing all they can to
undermine or render Kerry ineffective. You are so right. Winning is everything.
They have no scruples, no restraint no honor.
They are fascists who feed on hatred and greed.
This applies in varying degrees to everyone in the Chimp's Junta.

5. True - and that applies to the Italians too.
But beyond indoctriniation, i don't think alot of the landsers in the Wehrmacht or those in the Kreigsmarine and Luftwaffe were bad people. Thats a very involvied subject - you'd have to say it all depends and go from there... but reagarding the Bush family - I can't think of a worse band of lying evil crooks if I even tried....
I would put them on par with the Borgias in the 16th Century.
Its all about power, stealth, immorality and greed with that bunch. Nearly all of the one's i know of are corrupt to one degree of another.
This bunch suscribes to the ends justifies the means. Always has.

6. I Was Reluctant To Post This
so I'll just post it in the form of an unbiased question?

Who performed more valorously in combat?

George Bush?

Adolph Hitler?

7. Hitler had the Iron Cross Second Class.
He was a dispatch runner. I think his courage under fire was not disputed.
He was also gassed and temporarily blinded.

But the Chimp.... could you imagine him doing ANYTHING brave ?

9. Aldous Huxley once said
reagarding some who crawls before the powerful and bites the ones below that often in nature the best crawlers are the deadliest biters. I think a centipede has more character than the Chimp.

10. No apologies for Hitler, but
As a citizen of Austria-Hungary (one of the possessions of the Habsburg Empire), he was under no obligation whatsoever to enlist in the German Army (separate empire under Kaiser Wilhelm-Hohenzollerns). Whether enlisting when he didn't have to makes him courageous or a fool, I'll leave to DU to decide, but contrast with Bush\Cheney couldn't be starker.

Not even his firecest critics deny that he served honorably during WWI. (They didn't just give away those Iron Crosses back then.)

11. Bush And Cheney Are Physical Cowards...
I will not be a hypocrite and say I would have acted differently but I want my leaders to be a little braver, a little smarter, and a little more wise...

12. In WWII they still did not give them away either.
Honor was a very importnat matter with the professional officers. Falsified reports could get you in front of a Court of Honor and gott hilf du if the charges stuck.
You'd be lucky just getting broken in rank and sent to a pushisment battallion.

I am not appologiizing or endorsing Hitler, his political crimes or the madness and horror that followed.
However maybe we are better off that Bush IS a coward. He is not capable of demonstrating anything like leadership. Even Benito had more charisma than the Chimp - who often can't say something in English with out mangling it.
I can't deny Bush is a fascist. He just lacks the ego and character of the fascist dictators of the 20th Century.

Hopefully , unless they don't steal it again, we will succeed in electing a REAL president this time.

14. It teaches us not to be complaceant
doesnt it?
I never really understood why it is that Texas has such a mean streak politically.
With the exception of LBJ ( and I have huge conflicts with his legacy and mendacity),
The Chimp sort of came from out of nowhere. Now we are ALL stuck with him.

for now

Being LIBERAL is hard in Tesxas. Democrats were not alway liberal either.
Check out the period following the Civil War.

2. The people must understand this is a pattern with the Bush family...
Look at Ferraro, Dukakis, McCain, Cleland, Al Gore, and now, John Kerry. It has worked for them for a long time. Why should they change? This is the one thing they are really good at.
