Swift Boat Vets financed by Bush associates.
http://www.nytimes.com/2004/08/20/politics/campaign/20swift.html?hp

"Records show that the group received the bulk of its initial financing from two men with ties to the president and his family--one a longtime political associate of Rove's, the other a treasurer of the George H. W. Bush Library Foundation."

7. I know that, and you know that
But until I found this particular article, the only source I had for the story was Salon, and they make you pay to read. So, I couldn't refer skeptics there. Now, I can refer them to the NYT.

I had a freeper try to deny the Repugs were involved the other day. This link would have been very valuable to me if I'd had it. (Not that I was going to convince the freeper, but I was hoping to make a point with onlookers.)

3. CNN had an interesting take on this
Wolf Blitzer on CNN this morning was interviewing a NY Times reporter. The reporter said so far it's just a strong circumstantial case, but if someone could prove cooperation or coordination with the Bush re-elect commitee it's flat out illegal!

6. I doubt they're that stupid
I doubt KKKarl or any of the Bush Gang were directly involved in the ad. They wouldn't have been needed. O'Neill's been doing this for over 30 years.
