We have to get ready a little, because Boy George is going to get a slight bump next week, after the convention. But our man John is a fighter. He's no rookie to the process, and I'm going to trust him to know his adversary, and develop the proper strategy to deal with him. I think it's all good, and I'm feeling confident.

3. To be honest..

I felt a bit queasy this morning when I saw at electoral-vote.com how so many of Kerry's states are now white-in-the-middle. But seeing new polling numbers through the day made me feel better. And this flyer/rally business makes me feel even better.

That, and MSNBC's apparent turnaround is really uplifting.

I checked out their site and client list--mostly, if not all, repubs. It looks, pardon the expression, pretty bush league. That's want I don't like about electoral-vote.com. Every poll is treated equally, whether it's the flawed ARG poll or the reliable Field poll (for CA). My brother is panicking and I've been trying to buck up his spirits by sending him the McCain ad and the Tribune story.

9. I have really gained a lot of respect for Kerry.Org the last few days

I'm from Colorado not MA, so while I barely remember his 70's notoriety, I never paid too much attention to him otherwise. Then summer before last I saw him speak on C-Span and I told my husband "That's the next POTUS, with any luck."

I've been frustrated by various incidents during the campaign, and it was painful watching Dean get shafted and Clark and Kucinich get marginalized. I'm still full of turmoil about all that.

But I think Kerry has handled the last month, since the convention, very very well. He has been smart, and assertive, and timely. It was a thrill to see him call those bastards on their lies! And he's following through with direct public action; it's not just talk like all the Chimp's numerous threats.

Kerry has been strong and persistent and inspiring.
His rare gaffes do not sting me the way they used to. I feel the media has lost the power to use those against him, at least in the same way they did with Gore (some of them anyway)

Kerry's playing this well. this could've done a lot more damage, but kerry did a good job of turning it on it's head. the ball's in bush's court, now, and he's the one under pressure.
if he denounces the ad, its the equivalent of admitting defeat. if he doesn't, he's seen as someone who plays dirty.
