Kevin Phillips' Dutch Uncle Talk to the Dems
On NOW this evening Kevin Phillips hit the nail on the head, lambasting the Democrats - and Kerry - for not having the spine to take firm principled stands and fight the Republicans with the life or death intensity that's required. It's almost as if he was channeling BartCop.

I agree with him. If the Dems don't wake up and come out swinging real soon they're going to lose.

1. Re NOW
Isn't it amazing how articulate the professed republicans are about the Kerry campaign?

5. Kevin Phillips wants Bush* to lose as much as you do.
If you right him off so off-handedly you are making a huge mistake. This guy knows voters. He's the Dem Strategist we need.

2. Phillips
is an interesting case. He was a strong Republican who seemed to switch to our side in the early 90s.

3. He's a principled conservative
He's just gotten disgusted by the far right shift and ideological cant of the current Republican party. In the years that I've heard is commentaries he's always been pragmatic above all else.

Actually, with the rightward drift of the "Center" he's probably closer to the Democratic party's positions than the Republicans'. And he's very frustrated by the Democrats' refusal to adopt strong alternative positions and fight for them.

4. American Dynasty is one of the best books slamming the BCF
Kevin Phillips gets right down to it.
And the Bush squad is afraid of him. He knows too much.

6. What the hell is this "grow a spine" bullshit?
What more is Kerry supposed to do, challenge him to a duel?

Jesus fucking Christ. Kerry has gone balls out against Bush the past couple of days.
