I heard several times today that the ads are hurting Kerry. The ad has run for 8 days. according to Rasmussen polling there has been no real change in the polling. Kerry has been at 48-49% for the 10 of the 11 last days. Also has gone from being down in OH to up 10(Gallup)

5. i forget which poll was cited, but MSNBC said there was
a 10 point swing in veterans from kerry to bush. fwiw.

personally i can't believe that it won't have some effect, and i wish that kerry would attack it foursquare. go on the offensive, put it out there, but then shift gears totally and say something like but i already fought that war, and i want to fight for america's future now. and then talk about his message. and just do that speech after speech, because kerry did *fight* that war. wtf did lil flora do?

7. I wonder how much of that 10 point swing..
can be attributed to the empty promises Bush made to the VFW, and the news of troopp withdrawal around the world. I'm sure that 10% will swing back once the details become clear.

But I love the way the media gives SBVT credit for the shift. That way they can keep talking about their favorite new tabloid-worthy story.

6. The Kerry Campaign wouldn't be fighting back if there wasn't
Why waste their time if it was having no effect? (there was also the Annenberg poll).

8. Actually it is an 18-point shift among vets towards Bush
After the convention Kerry and Bush were tied at 46% among veterans. Now Bush leads 55% to 37%. Who knows if this poll is representative, but that's a HUGE shift in the past two weeks.

9. That's a CBS poll you are referring to
In the same poll, 46% said the war in Iraq was going "well".

Just how STUPID can people be?

10. Relax about that one.
They only had a 200 person sample and the MOE was 8%.

That was a bogus poll, which was surprising because most of the CBS ones have been fairly well-conducted.

11. CBS
First you would have to believe that they were tied at 46%. When that poll first came out saying they were tied I had my doubts. With such a small sampling of vets, just 3 people could make a huge change in the data. I think i will wait for more polls on this. Rasmussen has a daily poll so I find it more believable as far as tracking any huge changes. People also fail to remember in that same poll Kerry leads Bush 47-44 in the two way.

12. The Media Will Make Sure This Looks Close Until The End
by manipulating all this stuff- It's in their interest- it drives ratings- Kerry will clean Bush's clock in the closing days. You can fool some of the people some of the time.........
