Poll question: Should Kerry speak at an Iraq War protest?
Edited on Fri Aug-20-04 10:11 PM by Radical Activist
This poll is inspired by the poll asking if Kerry was right to protest the Vietnam War. I wonder if people will think what was good for the 60's is good for today. Kerry hasn't spoken at a single rally or protest against the war in Iraq. Should he do so?

Kucinich and Sharpton were the only primary candidates who spoke at anti-war rallies, which I guess is part of why they are seen as fringe.

edit: I changed the title to better match the poll options

1. How about "No because he supports the war."
That would be my choice.

3. The Dem party will continue to lose as long as
people fail to learn that strong conviction wins over more swing voters than pandering does.

4. He can't now....and I wish he could, but he can't. Only Dennis Kucinich
and Al Sharpton, that I know of had the cojones to speak at any anti-Iraq Invasion protest.

He would look like a hypocrit, and Edwards for sure won't because some of us picketed him at a fundraiser here in NC before he was VP candidate and he wouldn't even leave the $l,000 a plate dinner to come and speak to those of us who gave money and worked for him when he ran for Senate.

So, no, neither should come. I don't speak out of bitterness about this, but that the reality of the situation is it would hurt them more than it would help folks protesting, at this point in time... What's done is done.

5. If Kerry plays it smart he'll become commander in chief. So no.

He doesn't need to stick his neck out. Kerry offers the anti-war folk the best chance they have of putting and end to the Bush Doctrine.
