Proof that Survey USA Poll of CA is bunk.
2000 Exit poll shows nearly identical party breakdowns to the SUSA poll and gave Gore that huge margin of victory he got.

The issue is that they overweighted Republicans.

1. Republicans every once in a while do these things,
remember the new jersey poll which kept showing a close race ?

they do it to get democrats to waste money in a state we already have to prevent us from using the resources in more competetive swing states. i admit that i did fall for it in 2000, but the gore campaign never fell for it and didn't waste money here. and the kerry campaign wont either.

one thing people have to understand about the campaigns is they have their own internal polls and if there is really a problem they will deal with it.

2. yup
and internal polls are much more reliable. They cost more than these cheap media polls and have more information on how the race should be run. I'm not worried about California one bit.

4. Every once in a while
a poll shows a safe state to be really close. It's bound to happen.

Unfortunately, this is SUSA's second time with a screwy poll of CA. I don't know why they released this one to the public because it makes so little sense. I think SUSA has had three polls. The middle one showed the state as the others did - with a 10+ point lead for Kerry.

3. I think most RepubliCONs overweight themselves.
Look at Jim Sensenbrenner. Loves the chips I bet.
