Restore my faith in humanity please, DU!
If there is an undeniable link between the Bush campaign and the Swift Boat Liars that comes out in the next few days/weeks. Something only a fool would pretend to not believe. Would McCain dump bush? Please say yes. I'm not asking if McCain would switch parties or anything like that, just would he dump bush?

3. Repuke loyalty remains supreme
it overcomes all barriers - including logic, reason, and mercy.

4. No - they did the same to him and worse.
They smeared his wife and child and he still hugs the p.o.s. and supports him. He's a hopeless case.

8. Agree with you completely

I had some respect for him in '00, and still feel he's better than most pukes, but...he's still a puke.

He must be a masochist or something to go with Bush even after all they did.

He's a lost cause.

6. I don't think so.
If he wouldn't do it after what they did to him, he won't do it now, IMHO.

9. I see McCain standing behind his party more than standing behind
bushie. However, I wouldn't be at all surprised if McCain shows up here and there in interviews etc.. with a few harsh words, even against the republican party.

11. Not publicly, but no one is there in the voting booth with him,
except God, that is, and God is a Democrat. And McCain loves God and likes John Kerry.

My beloved grandfather said that, and it's been my motto ever since.

13. Maybe it's just another case of his using 'bad judgement' again.

Chapter V: The Keating Five

<snip>

But it is an innocent vacation picture that symbolizes McCain's Achilles heel and carries the reminder of the scandal that threatened his political career.

In the picture, which was taken in the Bahamas, McCain is seated on a bandstand while wearing an outrageous, straw party hat. Next to him on the dais, a bottle tipped to his lips, sits Charles Keating III, son of developer Charles H Keating Jr.

McCain calls the Keating scandal ''my asterisk.'' Over the years, his opponents have failed to turn it into a period.

<snip>

In spinning his side of the Keating story, McCain adopted the blanket defense that Keating was a constituent and that he had every right to ask his senators for help. In attending the meetings, McCain said, he simply wanted to make sure that Keating was treated like any other constituent.

Keating was far more than a constituent to McCain, however.

I'm not saying the guy is a crook, I'm just saying he's not the brightest bulb in the pack and he has a history of poor judgement. Not to mention the fact that he's a pretty good self-promoter.

14. Ain't gonna happen -
McCain is looking ahead. After the Bush debacle he will be the head of the Repug party and he therefore has to be able to say he was loyal.
