4. No
I think it would easier to go to a separate forum and do the polls.

And the requests to DU a poll won't fall to the second page so quickly and more people will get a chance to vote in the polls.

3. I like the idea

Even if they are combined.

As much as my fingers get tired, I think it is a good thing to vote in the online polls.

I see so many times that a newspaper poll says a pro Kerry or no Kerry result.

It does leave an impression in the minds of the voters, any little bit helps.

If the polls were all in one locaton it would be easier to spot them. It would probably take ten minutes out of a day to react to the ones that are meaningful to your location.

5. Great idea!
That way, we can all go in and vote on the polls each day..spend a half hour each day...make it a regular part of our day to contribute to the polls.

7. I posted your idea in the Bugs/Features Forum
Hope I got it right and that it helps. http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=121x2715

I really like the idea of going to one place and taking care of biz. I especially like the regional newspaper polls. It might really help in the swing states.

9. Yes. A Poll/Talking Heads/TV Forum. IMO, GD gets clogged with
Edited on Sat Aug-21-04 01:20 PM by Zorra
poll posts and posts about who and what is on TV at the moment. So much Malkin, O'Reilly, Limbaugh, Hannity, etc. I don't watch television, (many other Duers do not watch TV also) and though I don't mind participating in polls and sometimes knowing about what talking heads are saying, I would personally prefer to visit a different "Polls/Talking Heads/TV" forum when I want to find out about these subjects. And folks interested in television can visit that forum to see what is going on.

GD might move more slowly, and it might allow, what are in my opinion, a different spectrum issues and opinions to remain on the front page of DU for a longer period of time, leading to more participation from a greater number of DUers. Important issues and opinions about BBV or Plamegate sometimes disappear quickly because of poll posts or posts about what some talking head just said on TV, and threads often need to be repeatedly kicked so that more Duers will see them and participate in the thread.

I'm not disputing the validity of Poll posts or posts about TV shows, I think they are important and relevant also. But there are so many of them that they could easily fill their own seperate forum, and allow GD to slow down some.

Just my 2 cents worth.

10. NO, NO, NO, NO
Too many people wouldn't bother to go to special Poll forum and they would miss an opportunity to DU a poll.
