"Veterans For Kerry" Got a HUGE reception at our local parade
I went to our local neighborhood parade today in S.W. Portland, Ore. It's a very casual, family & neighbors kind of community gathering. The group that got the best reception by far was the "Veterans For Kerry." A roar went up from the crowd when they came into view. They were also doing swift business at a booth, handing out stickers, signs, and information. It was quite heartening, even though this is a liberal area and therefore not entirely surprising.

I thanked them for their service and their efforts.

2. How progressive is your area?
I doubt they would get a ovation in Idaho.

4. Well, it's liberal, but it's not the most liberal part of Portland
The S.W. portion of Portland is probably a little less liberal than the other sections, because it's got a slightly more suburban feel than some other parts of the city. However, this is Portland, afterall, so it is very, very Democratic for the most part. And this parade takes place in a little subsection of S.W. Portland (Multnomah Village) which is groovier than the rest of the surrounding area.

I wish you guys could see my street. It is Kerry sign after Kerry sign after Kerry sign. Even a few longtime Repubs -- including our immediate neighbor and another a stone's throw away -- put up Kerry signs.

Bush ain't gettin' Oregon, that's for sure!

7. Networks did a poll and found that bush
was up among vets. Are they stupid or what? He cuts their benefits, allows halliburton to get away with not feeding them properly, Was AWOL, if not a deserter. I know that those guys are angry but it is not Kerry's fault so they should stop and think. I ams sure that the average American will be sable to see through this pretty soon. It is too bogus for anyone to believe.

8. Some do not think or question; others who should know better make excuses.
