1. I think she's part of the program, but it's more than just her.

I often wondered just how she got to be Senator. She seems smart enough I guess, but she's not a very good speaker, and I don't recall her initiating and earthshattering bills. But boy, she's always there in the picture being nice and visible. I chalked it up to her being from Tx. and shrub has to support his neighbors, ya know. I didn't realize Rove was her campaign advisor too.

That's an interesting diagram of connections I saw on Washington Journal on cspan. Sure helps connect the dots, huh?

5. Washington Journal on c-span yesterday showed a diagram of

the links between the $$ backers of the un-swift boaters, and K. Rove, K.B. Hutchinson, Rick Perry, and several other Pubs indirectly linked to GH Bush. IF I can find it, I'll post the link. Somebody on another DU thread had it listed today.

Same $$ supporters that did the McCain atttacks in 2000.

10. The NYT Infographic reminds me of the Mafia diagrams from trials and

Congressional hearings, with shrubbie and Rove as the capo di tutti capi and consigliere. Actually more probable that Cheney is the shadow don.

9. Kay Bailey Hutchison's husband, Ray

was a huge Republican bigwig in Texas before it was cool to be a Republican. He was already a mover and shaker in the party before she married him.

Ray Hutchison may be a connection to both Bob Perry and Karl Rove because he goes back so far.

I think she was a lowly state rep when she married Hutchison, and his bucks helped parlay her advancement first to state treasurer and thence to the US Senate.

She grew up in the Houston area and was a TV newscaster before she launched her political career.
