1. It's certainly possible...

...but it's one of the trustees for the George HW Bush Presidential Library that's a primary financial backer of the Swiftsmears. One could build a clear case for connection to Rove and Bush than they could for a direct connect to Poppy at this point, but I certainly wouldn't count the old bastard out. He's still just a bitter old man.

...I remember back about 6 years ago, they used to talk about how P Bush was gonna be a "rising star", but it's creepy. He's looking more and more like his father. Is the Bush gene recessive or something? As they age, they all take on that "simian sheen" that betrays a bit too much inbreeding...

3. It may be that

there is enough evidence to prove complicity, not simply a series of connections. Clearly, the big bush backers are bank-rolling the ad. But it may be a case of "one hand washes the other," violating the spirit of the law, but difficult to "prosecute."

More important, it is being tried in the court of public opinion. We'd all love to see Kerry slam Bush fast and hard. But this is a 12 round title fight. Kerry doesn't have to win every minute of every round .... he just has to win the fight. The new Kerry ad, featuring John McCain from four years ago, is an ass-kicker. These ads are going to back-fire against the republicans, and will soon be viewed as the most infamous "self-inflicted wound" in the 2004 campaign!

5. Good point. Morally wrong, but very hard to prove illegal.

All these not so swift boaters have to say is that's the way I remember it.

This has to be won in the court of public opinion for sure. If in that court they are seen as deceiptful liers, their supporters will be as well. Most people haven't forgotten what was done to McCain by the SAME GUYS!

This too will play out, and I'm sure shrubCo will have another battle to fight off soon.

7. Of course he is.. All during the Clinton years he was plotting

his "revenge"..He still gets daily CIA briefings, he's safely "out of the limelight, and he's got all the connections.. he hand-picked GeorgieBoy's cabinet, advisors, and probably helps write the damned speeches..

He had 8 years to get all his "ducks in a row".. The Bushes are spiteful people who NEVER foregt a "slight"...real or imagined.. They are dangerous people who KNOW even more dangerous people..
