Kerry heckled at VFW Speech?
Just saw CNN where it said that people at Kerry's VFW speech were heckiling him shouting "Bush, Bush, Bush." Is this true? Really disgusting if it is true....here you have a guy who volunteered to fight for his country in Vietnam and chose to be on the swift boats and saved a soldiers life. And then you have a pResident who used his daddy to get out of going to war, skipped out of the Guard while probably many of these same VFW members were under attack in Vietnam.

Can someone explain to me why we are living in bizzaro world? Up is down, and down is up, day is night and night is day! What the hell is going on here?

ones on the news, standing with their backs to Kerry. Also some sat there glaring wouldn't applaud and some of the seats were empty, disgraceful. :-(

2. Operative word: CNN
No doubt they started it, but I'm sure there was an equally loud "Kerry, Kerry, Kerry" reaction. But CNN is busy propping up the boy-king, so they choose to frame it to get this message accross.

3. I'm sure the Bushies made sure they had vets planted in the audience.
Last year Kerry got a few standing ovations at the VFW convention while Rummy and Condi received cool receptions.

I have NO doubt Bushies had seating arrangements made for a number of planted attendees that favored them.

The contrast to the year before (which I watched on Cspan) was just too transparent.

4. stupid!
I'm sorry, but I believe that at least half of the american people are stupid. Every time I think that there might be some hope, they do something incredibly stupid--like voting for Bush.

5. perhaps....
the swift boat vets for lies are making a difference and the VFW is falling for it like others in the country as polls show that Kerry's support among veterans is decreasing.

8. One veteran heckling another?
God, that's disgusting.

If you don't like Kerry, and you're a vet, then not clapping or something like that seems okay, but to out-and-out heckle a fellow veteran?

That is disgusting, and shows how Bush has effectivly turned vet against vet. :puke:

11. They have the right to object. It's better to have that than
staged presentations where people have to sogn committments in order to attend a speech!

There are still a lot of people, vets & non-vets, who still harbor a lot of emotion about 'Nam. Some will never forgive those who dissented back then. They have the right to their opinion.

I still prefer to see some people who oppose Kerry for a reason they feel very strongly about, than hear that our sitting Pres prohibits any opponents from even being in the same room with him!

16. Vets for Kerry
Vets for Kerry came to our town yesterday. They had been approved to appear at an outdoor shelter at the local VFW. Four days before the appearance the approval was rescinded. I talked with one of the vets who came to talk and he said he heard the local VFW was very conservative and they decided it would be better to appear at the Labor Temple as they weren't welcome at the VFW. They didn't want any protesters. You can just bet if a pro-Bush vet came the VFW would welcome him with open arms. Pretty sad when true vet heroes aren't wanted at the VFW.
I called the editors of two newspapers and clued them in so if a pro-Bushie shows up and is at the VFW you can bet there will be a story on it.
