Form-180--I'm voting Kerry no matter what, but...

...can somebody sell me on a credible reason why he hasn't signed his Form-180 to release all of his records. That seems to be one of the things SBVT is calling for, and that Bush has already done(although obviously there seems to be a lot of stuff missing from his records).

I just get sick of hearing this from Repug posters on other boards I frequent....

Once signed, it remains in effect until you file another Form to cease the releas of your records.

This is being used as a ploy from the RW, and is Bogus. Kerry's records have been in the public forum for quite some time...:)

it does irk me a bit, to be honest. I don't post here too often, and mostly lurk. It's a little discouraging to me. I've been raising the issue on other boards of AWOL's missing 5 months(as reflected in his pay records). I'm honestly and sincerely interested in why he hasn't signed a Form-180 and released every single thing in his record, to put this sh!t to rest. I don't like having my motives questioned just for asking what I thought was a reasonable question.
But, whatever. Think whatever you want...

the DD214 contains most of the important information regarding one's discharge, medals awarded, etc. But Bush has refused to release his own DD214, which is extremely telling...

Kerry volunteered to go oversees...to go to Vietnam...to fight, kill, and die for his country. Bush used his daddy's connections to join the National Guard and was NOT willing to go oversees. And he didn't complete his service.

his websight. I recall seeing many freepers going over them tooth and nail. The real question is about Bush's service. Can't seem to find anyone or anything to validate his claims that he fulfilled his obligations. Barking up the wrong tree here. And more than one expert has said Bush didn't finish his service. Of course being of the elite class he apparently doesn't have to.

They are completely hung up on form 180. I think it's a complete disclosure of Kerry's medical records from 'Nam. I don't think he has signed it. My position is that he can't win by signing it. Regardless of what is in his medical file it will be spun negatively by the talking heads on radio and TV. It will just provide another angle for Repubs to attack regardless of the truth. Kerry can't win with this. He just needs to continue to expose these attacks for what they are.

Undecided or on the fence voters by and large don't know anything about the 180 issue. Political junkies and Kerry haters know about it because it's a part of their talking points. Anything like that released by Kerry opens him up to more false attacks. These people will stop at nothing to prevent Bush from losing.

Maybe that is what he is going to do? I certainly hope so--because refusing to do the full disclosure gives the RWers something to harp on. Signing it would shut them up for good. I bet that Kerry is just saving this for the right moment!

As soon as the GOP convention is over, the gloves come off. Kerry didn't spend so much time in teh Senate by being an idiot. He knows how to play the game, and he is playing it excellently....:)
