Anybody just see the NBC coverage of Iraq's soccer team?
It brought a tear

What to say, in order of which thoughts occurred, AFTER wondering if segment contained their condemnation of Bush for putting them in commercial, after destroying the country:

first, happiness for them

second, anger at what we've done to them

third, good thing for them that son wasn't around to "encourage" them

fourth, how to get some Tshirts out there, combining best wishes for the team with something about how Bush POLITCIZES EVERYTHING

ideas on that last one?

2. The Iraq Soccer story is the best story of the Olympics
It's nopt about politics, it's about a great team overcoming tremendous obstacles.

3. I agree, BUT did you catch my remark about that wormweasel
MAKING it political?

I was so proud of the Iraqis for standing up to him, and telling him to shove it, that they DESTROYED their country

that's the first thing I thought of tonight; can't help it

It did make me as happy as I've felt in quite awhile, though, to see those clips of the Iraqis watching the game on TV, then having the laughs out in the street.....

at that point, though, after a few seconds, I thought: carbomb?

5. sludge is reporting that busholini will go to Athens to steal
some thunder from the Iraqi soccer team.

It is about politricks, it's about a great team overcoming tremendous obstacles and being cynically used by an immoral demagogue for blatant political expediency.

6. I read that here; didn't realize that it's from Drudge
how on EARTH are they going to justify that?

then, a little jump over to Najaf, where he'll get the keys to Ali's tomb, then turn em over to Allawi?

would that be the coolest, or WHAT?

4. so anyway, what about a Tshirt?
front: IRAQ in green letters, with olympic rings/soccer balls? something like that?

back: picture of Bush, looking like an idiot, with a soccerball stuck in his mouth, with one of those circle/slashes
('defense de....') surrounding him, over his face?
