One more avenue to research: the SBL MONEY trail
Doesn't FOIA require disclosure of donations to a 527?

If so, somebody should be adding up the money, because it doesn't add up. The donation amounts in the NY Times chart aren't high enough, seems to me, for the ad buys they're doing -- even with smaller donations added. And the book, I'm guessing, needs to make money for Regnery.

Is there anything that could be found online (before it gets scrubbed!) or requested via FOIA about SwiftBoat Liars' finances? Because you never know -- they may have some help from places they shouldn't...

1. GOOD idea! *I* was wondering whose rolodex they're using...
They've gotten an INCREDIBLE amount of airtime on talk radio, etc. Even if most was free, there's the question of how it was arranged. (I do think there probably is a money trail, but I don't know how to follow it. Hope somebody does.)

(This is a repost from Skinner's thread looking for screen shots. But it fits in here too, and might be noticed--that thread is reeeeally long now.)

swiftvets SCHEDULE (July 24 to Aug 30)--this is amazing!!!

I cannot believe that these creeps could put together a schedule like this, papering the whole country on the local outlets, without the coordination of a VERY sophisticated organization with an excellent network of contacts. Or, have they spent a lot of money on a PR firm? Oh yeah--there's that Merrie person. Does she get to look at the GOP rolodex? This looks like full saturation (I guess I'm naive, only knowing the few t.v. channels I have access to.)

N.B.--I found this by googling, but when I went to the main site earlier, I saw no way to get here. (But I'm not all that web-savvy.)

2. I went to the IRS website
And downloaded the PDF of the 8872 form for contributions and expenditures for the group. It is dated 7/15, though, nothing since then. The total was 158,750 at that time. I don't know when they are supposed to file a new one.

3. What's the site where you can view the donations of people?
I've seen one where you look up people and see what they've donated, and another where you look up the organization and see who's funding it. But I can't remember what those sites were. Anybody?
