1. McCain's trying to weasel around debates with the "town hall" concept...
he knows he'd have his ass handed to him.

3. Probably. Still, he won't have to answer Barack directly...he knows the media
will throw him softballs - or lace the audience with the same fools they manage to find
every time...

You know, the ones that ask Dubya things like..."how do you deal with SO MUCH pressure?"
"What's you and Laura's favorite bedtime story?" and shit like that....

4. tentative schedule
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_presidential_election_debates%2C_2008

Although the eventual nominees of the Republican and Democratic parties and any permitted third-party candidates must agree to the final schedule and formats, the following is the schedule announced by the CPD on November 19th.<1>

Three presidential debates:

Friday, September 26, 2008 at the University of Mississippi in Oxford, Mississippi<2>. This debate will focus on domestic issues.
Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee<3>. This debate will have a town-hall meeting format.
Wednesday, October 15, 2008 at Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York<4>. This debate will focus on foreign affairs.
One vice-presidential debate:

Thursday, October 2, 2008 at Washington University in St. Louis in St. Louis, Missouri<5>. Any and all issues will be fair game at this debate.

10. Why does the South get two debates. Four regions and should be a debate out west
I guess St. Louis is considered part of the Midwest?

5. How about for every town hall debate there is a large arena or stadium debate?
Wouldn't that be special? Either way they'll have to find McCain a box.

7. I can hardly wait either! ... Generally, debates start after the conventions are held..

So even though we're all chomping at the bit, I don't think we're running late on having them.

We're just antsy! ----->

The traditional time in the traditional format. None of this town hall bullshit.

11. I can't wait either
for the moment when John McCain goes blank...ala the viagra vs. birth control question. There is no 'I'll get back to you later on that' in a debate. He'll just stand there passing his huge hand back and forth over his face while he gropes dimly for some kind of coherent answer in the back of his echoing brain. The mounting panic will show on his face and the country will know that this man does not have what it takes to be President and that Obama, brainy, confident and cool, does.
