After listening to some C-Span callers, if Kerry loses it will be good for
him but bad for the country. He volunteered risking his life for his country in the Viet Nam war, he not risk his life again. These people are crazy. to want to serve a nation after Bush has ruined it in this way is nobel but unwise. I say let the have the mess they created...in 15 years most the evil ones will be dead...we just need to endure and we can. We have endured and we will. In the end...good will overcome evil.

"If my people, who are called by my name, would HUMBLE themselves, pray, and TURN from their WICKED WAYS, then I would hear from heaven and heal their land." If just ain't going to happen in our lifetime.

1. And you've concluded that all is lost from watching TV for a half-hour?
C'mon! It's hardly that bad. Sure, some of the callers were clearly morons, but what can you say about that? This is America, and we're a diverse country. We should all expect to encounter ignorance.

My problem with your post is the apparent leap from disappointment or frustration with such ignorance to a belief that all is lost, and that we should give up the fight. F THAT!

This whole swift boat thing is a diversion. Can it do damage to Kerry? Sure. But the more important thing is in directing attention at the fact that it is a diversion. Plain and simple. Where is the attention and outrage about issues that really matter?

Is the fight over or already decided? I don't think so. Don't forget -- we've got debates to see yet. Do you think that Lil' Georgie can hold his own with John Kerry in a televised debate? Cuz I sure don't.

6. Thanks for the encouragement.
Although not defeated, they're making me ill, again, literally, as they did with the republican-led fraudulent impeachment, republican-led 2000 presidential theft, republican-led texas gerrymandering, republican-led california recall, republican-led shameful, false smearing of war-heroes mccain and cleland, corporate-controlled-republican-led congress, and now this coup against kerry. speaking for myself, this theft of democracy, of america is taking its toll.:)
Your words have helped. :) Thanks HEFFA.

7. It may be

a diversion buts it's getting the attention that should be going to the issues. I am not at all optimistic that Kerry and the Democrats are going to win. The reason? Kerry and the Democrats themselves. I just cannot understand why they have been so unprepared to handle the onslaught of the Republicans given what happened to Clinton, Gore, McCain and Cleeland. One can go all the way back to Dukakis to see that the Republicans play tough. It just seems to me that the Democratic party of old is gone and in its place is one with no backbone.

Democratic spokesman are always too polite, sometimes not informed, and slow on their feet. They really need better spokespersons. This swifts boats fiasco should not have been allowed to explode. Kerry did nothing for two weeks and allowed the scandal to grow. The Democrats just don't seem to get it. They have to be on their toes and ready to respond quickly to each attack. They should listen more to Carvile and Clinton who proved they knew how to fight and survive the onslaughts. I hope Kerry wins but I just am not optimistic.

3. ...good will overcome evil?
I don't believe in evil as a term related to good. I believe only in what is right for you and your family without harm from others, or to others for their beliefs.

What you consider "Good" may be bad for someone else. "Evil" is a term that denotes something that isn't "Holier than Thee"

4. Nah, he'll get it back.
Seriously, don't worry. It looks to me like they've got a handle on it now. He could even end up on top because of this.

What Bush just did was reinforce Kerry's strategy of making his hero status the central issue in this campaign. If that's what's important, how hard is it really going to be for us to win? Kerry has all the facts on his side.

Hell, if he wanted to, he could GO AROUND IN HIS FULL-DRESS UNIFORM, complete with ribbons. That would be tacky, but powerful as hell. They've already got footage of him carrying a machine gun around Vietnam. The more they play that, the better.

5. lottie, I adore you-- but "the worse, the better" always fails.
I don't have 15 years to spend on living in a fascist, militant state. I want to have kids soon--do they deserve to wait 15 years? Sorry, lottie--there is no room for resignation on this one. The stakes are too high.
