Kerry didn't just save lives in Vietnam!
Good thing for Senator Chic Hecht of Nevada (a staunch Republican) that Bush wasn't around to read "Our Pet Goat" when he was choking on a piece of apple lodged in his throat. Quick thinking Senator Kerry rushed to Hecht's side and gave him the Heimlich maneuver -- four times and saved his life.
