Bush campaign "lowering expectations" for a "big convention bounce"

President Bush (news - web sites)'s re-election campaign is lowering expectations for a big bounce in opinion polls from the Republican nominating convention in New York next week. Campaign advisers said they expect Bush to gain at most a jump of three or four percentage points from the national attention he and the Republican Party will get during the four-day televised event. 2. They're doing this
so if Bush gets a 5-point jump they can claim exceeded expectations.

4. Yep, like the "we have added 1.5 million jobs" ploy...
I can't wait to see his first appearance before the cameras after returning from "vacation." He's either going to try to smirk and swagger his way through it or he'll go back into the stuttering, blithering idiot mode of recent days. Kerry and Edwards have been calling him out...HARD...for the last few days. Edwards is right. When he responds, Bush WILL show us what kind of "man" he is.

8. It's about raising expectations. The Bunnpants team lowered them in the
hopes they will get a bigger bounce and it will make them look even better.

Therefore, if we can get the media whores to believe he'll get a double digit bounce, their tactic fails.
