AP Makes Lying Swift Boat Ads Equivalent To Pro-Kerry Ads
3rd paragraph:

With Kerry taking a break from campaigning, running mate John Edwards said Bush needs to tell the group to pull its ads, a step the White House and the Bush campaign refuse to take. The White House and Bush's campaign note that Kerry has benefited from more than $62 million worth of similar advertising against the president.

Apparently, Mr. Useless Journalism Degree doesn't figure out that Kerry is asking for a specific group to pull their ads because of their false content, not ALL 527 ads. So, why bother with a follow up sentence explaining this when you can just regurgitate GOP talking points?

By making them equivalent, Pete Yost makes Kerry a hypocrite. Which is exactly what the Bush campaigns wants the press to do. Kudos to the AP for swallowing the talking points so wholeheartedly.

1. That's right -
the truth has nothing to do with it in their minds. Whatever happened to the responsibility of the press to present the facts? All these idiots do is present 'different sides of the story'.

6. That's Not Objectivity
You don't present the viewpoint of Hitler and the Jews as equally valid.

(was that over the top?)

10. The AP appears to prefer to be GOP liked rather than a truth teller.
And when they do equate truth with lies because both were funded under the same Section of the IRS Code - 527 - then they are indeed scum.

:-)

4. It Isn't About 527s
It is about baseless character attacks and a smear campaign.

If Citizens for Tax Reform wanted to criticize Kerry's voting record on taxes through factual ads, that is fair play, it is what MoveOn.org does. As long as they stick to the record and the "facts"

I hate that the press buys into the Republican talking points & quotes them like truth.

5. When Kerry says something he "alleges" or "accuses" - Bush "notes"
When Bush says anything about Kerry, it's a fact that the media dare not dispute.

When Kerry says anything about Bush, it is just an accusation that cannot be trusted.

That's the U.S. media - part of the Bush campaign.
