Who was it that said that? What a godawful distortion. No Child Left Behind unfunded; he had to lie to Congress to get the Rx coverage passed, and now it's a complete mess; and those tax cuts...don't me started.

13. "Keeping Promises" is not the yardstick of a good presidency

That always burns me up. The notion that somebody did a good job just because they fulfilled campaign promises. Never mind if the promised policies are good ideas or not, we should give him a pat in the back simply because he did what he said he would do.

Adolf Hitler kept most of his campaign promises to ignore the Versailles treaty, rebulid the German military and economy and solve the problem of the "Jewish Question". Does that make him a good leader?

No Child Left Behind an unfunded mess, his prescription drug program fails to help many seniors. That leaves the tax cut, the only real domestic priority besides reelection--and that was merely a sucky idea.

And nobody points out that the reasons he didn't keep any of his other promises was because THEY WERE TOO STUPID FOR PRIME TIME.
