Bill "PNAC" Schneider Debunks SBV Ad Number 2 On CNN! Is Hell Frozen?
Edited on Sun Aug-22-04 07:19 PM by cryingshame
That insipid Asian looking Bimbo on CNN was questioning Schneider about SBV and he said:

1. there might be some SLIGHT damage but the available polls used very small samples
2. this may very well work in Kerry's favor leading up to RNC
3. The second SBV Ad is misleading because Kerry wasn't making the accusations about atrocities but quoting 150 Veterans who gave THEIR statements.

I can't believe Schneider didn't spin this FOR Junior and did the exact opposite. Of course he DID overlook Cordier being part of the BC Campaign as being illegal ... but you can't have your cake and eat it!

1. I heard it too
He went into it quite specifically for some time-how the quotes were from other people. I think even the marginally intelligent would get the picture. I guess that even for media whores there is a line of decency over which they won't step.

2. He's a total repuke
But I don't think he's completely stupid. I think he knows he's more or less forced to call this one like it is.

3. Amazing
I saw that a few hours ago on CNN... and was amazed. Granted, he didn't comment on *ALL* the facts refuting the Swift Liars, but I was flabbergasted that he nailed them on the 2nd ad's core deception.

7. Hell might not have frozen over but
I'd say it's getting down right Chilly at CNN. This is like the second or third time today that they've admitted the SBV might possible (just possibly) be less than truthful. Or as we call it--LYING. Wonder what's happened over there? Did they take a look at their ratings and realize they are not winning viewers by becoming Fox Lite? Or could it be that they've finally decided to read our faxes and e-mails and to listen to our phone calls? Too late suckers--I've jumped ship to MSNBC.

4. One truth about PNAC and the Neocons is:
They will jump ship at a moments notice because they are opportunists. Hate to quote Pat Buchanan but he nailed that one in his up comming anti-Bush book.

8. thanks, that's a little good news!
What second ad was that referring to?

It looks like even Schneider has limits on how far he will go to support something he knows is wrong.

11. Second Ad Intentionally Makes Kerry's Testimony Re:VietNam Atrocities
appear as if HE is accusing Vets of doing horrible war crimes...

Bill Schneider explained that in truth... Kerry was recounting testimony OTHER Vets had already witnessed to.

12. I didn't see it.
But I will NEVER trust CNN unless it has been reported and proven for a very long time that they are telling the truth.

13. I saw it... they've been showing it in regular cycles all weekend...
My guess is that the AEI crowd is admitting to themselves that the SBVT smear campaign is a miserable failure and they're starting to distance themselves from it...

16. uh.......
"Asian looking Bimbo" is pretty offensive.

What do her looks or her ethnicity have to do with her ideas or her speech?

If you can't bother to find out her name, can't you refer to her as "hateful Republican"??

Edited on Sun Aug-22-04 08:10 PM by cryingshame
and she is insipid and a bimbo.

So please spare me the "offensive" line. :)

would it be "offensive" if Imentioned the good looking, athleticly built black guy who USED to anchor on CNN?

21. can you say FCC license rules? since there is ACTUAL sworn testimony
on the record out there in terms of Kerry's comments, these media types apparently have all sorts of legal type rules/procedures to abide by, at least at CYA level, so as NOT to report/foster a KNOWN/SHOULD BE KNOWN deliberate misquoting or truncating that alters the SUBSTANCE of the statement or the speaker's intent ...

I have boycotted CNN in our household, and jumped ship to MSNBC, so I didn't hear the PNAC'er report, but both Matthews and Olberman made references to the gist of what I just stated above. Tweety was worked up over the misleading/truncated clip of Kerry's Hardball interview as posted on the RNC website; and, Olberman pointed to the same issues over the Michelle Malkin accusation alleging she was "quoting" him -- her error was deep enough that she issued a formal apology to Keith -- and we all know how much they like admitting mistakes (NOT)! These 2 recent incidents on MSNBC focused me even more about whether some of this recent media "epiphany" (shall I say) is conversion or just CYA stuff.
