Is the Bush campaign beginning to see the SBVT ad as a blunder ?
Edited on Sun Aug-22-04 07:43 PM by kentuck
Drip....drip....drip each day brings more evidence that it is nothing but a political conspiracy against John Kerry. We saw an editor for the Chicago Tribune come forward today and denounce the ad as a lie. And a veteran in the little town of Telluride Colorado has also given a first-hand, eye-witness account of it also, and he says that he saw Kerry pulling the guy out of the water and described the actions in detail, which further deteriorates the argument of O'Neill and the Swift Boat scum.

Bush has been pressured by Kerry and some in the media to denounce the ad but he is hesitant to do so because it would put him back on the defensive and he does not wish to be there. It is important for him to pretend it is all a game - a competitive event where one person wins and another loses. Unfortunately, he is making losers out of many military people in Viet Nam that won their medals legitimately but will now be questioned by friends and family because of the actions of George W Bush and his political henchmen.

1. Probably, Sir
But it is much too late; the thing has its own momentum, and the laws of inertia have come into operation. They thought it would be a good idea, but like any poorly timed lunge at the an agile target, it cannot be called back, and has left them open to devastating riposte....

2. No..Given the Sunday Morning Pundit shows...I'd say it's their "Ace."
They've managed to co-opt the Vietnam war into some sort of "unfinished business that we had to got into Iraq to get an end to." And the folks our Dems sent out to lead the charge for the Left...left me "bleeding.

I'd give it a "Win" for the Repugs for those who watch Cable/Network, but an "A" for the "Internet Crowd."

A mixed review...depending on the "media du jour," of the electorate.
 on this...

4. Steady On, My Friend
Things are not nearly so bleak as that; in fact, they are positively sunny. The enemy has done himself tremendous damage by this poorly calculated attack, and will continue to be badly harmed by it through to the election.

6. I watched a regluar half hour of network news tonight
I never really do that but I wanted to see how it looked through that lens. I watched the half hour of CBS news before 60 Minutes. During that half hour it was looking very good for our side in terms of the way the facts were presented.

7. all depends on where the polls are headed....
if they turn in favor of the senator, then it has indeed
been a blunder by the repugs. On the other hand if dubya's
poll climbs prior to the RNC, then SBVT's can be the only
reason.
