"Brothers in Arms" Kerry ad featuring Dire Straits
Edited on Sun Aug-22-04 09:15 PM by bransonfu
OPening... DIre Straights song "Brothers in Arms" Begins to play to slo motion video footage of Kerry holding the rocket launcher as he trudges through the jungles of Vietnam.

Voiceover: 58,000 men gave their lives in the Vietnam war. Thousands more were wounded. John Kerry remembers the valor and sacrifice of these men well.

Video footage of John Kerry at the Vietnam Veterans Memorial speaking with a group of veterans about their shared experience.

song continues as Max CLeland discusses the effects of his wounds and how his experience has made him a stronger person. A leader. He says: "It is unpatriotic to besmirch the fine service of the men and women who served in Vietnam and those who serve in Iraq today. THese people are the real American heroes. John Kerry is my hero."

John Kerry video sitting in his Senate office saying he lost some very close friends in that conflict and the experience convinced him to not merely comlain about failed leadership but to take on a leading role in fighting for US strength...making sure military are always adequately provided for and that they have a clear mandate when they are sent to fight.

DIscusses the same fallen of 9/11 and the fact that he will not stand by and see their memory fade with no action being taken to protect America. Bush and congress have yet to act on 911 commissions recommendations. As president, he will do all he can to provide for our military and veterans and to protect our own shores from threats.
----------------------------
How does that sound? It's not a real ad. But I want to see somethign like this where they go for the GOP jugular. How dare they wrap themselves in the flag and coopt 911. How dare they not reject out of hand the vicious attacks against John Kerry.

Push the emotional buttons of middle America. Get some juicy quotes from BUsh inserted in there if possible.

what other ads do you envision that can crank up the emotion and pit the American sense of fair play against BUsh and those lowdown scum working with SVBT.

I see this ad in my mind and would love to put something like that together as a short clip on the web.
