What's Schuster Talking About?
He just said Obama was down 5 points today on the Gallup daily tracking poll.

Hmmmm - that's not quite right is it?

4. No - he said Obama was down.
He said something to the effect that Obama's trip has not helped him, that he was down 5 points in todays Gallup.

7. I think they're making up all the presidential polls.
It makes me crazy. The pubs are going down in flames in all polls, yet they say McCain and Obama are just a couple of points apart. It doesn't make sense, unless the polls are somehow rigged. Call me paranoid.

10. Wouldn't you think the
Dem talking head they had on, who was terrible by the way, would have said something?

This guy's name was Stone and he wasn't very good.

11. he was the worst of all I've seen, including Donna Brazille
and that's saying something

did you see his response when Shuster reiterated McCain's charge that Obama tried to legislate against the surge? he didn't know WHAT to say

it was SO pathetic

these IDIOTS have to realize that they need to turn EVERY argument against the surge into a denunciation against the war itself: how many lives have been lost, how our ECONOMY has been ravaged, etc

they NEVER, EVER do that

they ALLOW themselves to be put on the defensive, and are unable to turn it around

13. exactly....like he was in his first high school debate, and wasn't prepared for
any of the points his opponent would be making

And I hope this isn't the beginning of a trend, but judging by today's performance, including his gushing with Andrea M over McCain's manly speech today (total steno job, btw), it looks as if Shuster is climbing on board with David Gregory. two more passengers on the Straight Talk Express

hope I'm wrong, but today was a really bad day for balanced news coverage

it's so obvious that the latest talking point is that the Euro tour is going to be a big help to McCain!

Edited on Fri Jul-25-08 02:53 PM by Gabi Hayes
when asked what McCain's biggesi pitfall was and how he'd address it if he were on McCain's staff:

''address the enthusiasm gap!!!!!''

as opposed to the pug, who just RIPPED Obama for being inauthentic, etc.

just THINK of the things Stone could have said, like, oh...STOP LYING about everything. Get his FACTS STRAIGHT about the surge, about where Pakistan is, about the names of most of the countries of the world, things like that

If I'd been on the laundry list would have continued until Shuster had shut me up

this guy is beyond pathetic

and he still looked like he'd just stepped off a tilt-a-whirl at the top of Mt. Everest

WHO on earth is in charge of sending these pussies out there?

and Shuster's being a real asshole, as in referring to McCain's speech today as being somehow different than EVERYthing he's been spewing out. really disappointed in that jerk

9. he lost five points, is what he said. Obama's seven point lead is now two.

I saw it, and was going to start a thread about how this whole thing seems to be HELPING McCain in the polls (substantial gains in Minnesota and Colorado) in the short term

combine that with the simply mindboggling media antipathy (screw the massive coverage, they've gone out of their way to put a negative cast on it....Clintons get LOTS of coverage, almost ALL of it negative) towards him AND the complete unwillingness to ever challenge McCain's myriad lies and the equation looks bleak to me

you just CAN'T fight the media, unless you can successfully go over their heads, which almost never works....ask Gore or Kerry or Howard Dean.....or Bill Clinton during his term (impeachment never would have happened without the media carrying water for the maniacs in congress)

I hope I'm wrong, and the groundswell against the republic party will overwhelm corporate media venality, but history shows that it doesn't often happen
