Do you think the Kerry campaign has learned anything from the recent past? Like what Bush did to smear the military records of McCain and Max Cleland? Weren't they prepared for this?

1. Who says they're not prepared for it?

Things don't have to happen on the timetable that best satisfies US. Kerry knows the importance of timing. There's no reason to conclude that he wasn't prepared for any of this.

to see O'Neill and Kerry in a debate again like the Cavett show of 71...I wonder if O'Neill would accept a challenge if Kerry offered it...?

3. Kerry could be timing it

Rove seems to have planned the attacks to culminate during the August lull, but forgot that the Republican Coronation would be made vulnerable by it.

If Kerry rolls with the earlier punches, and kicks some serious ass this coming week-10 days, Bush will limp to his Imperial Coronation with significant damage and a heady aroma.

No matter how much our side has the information and is pissed about it, our people are totally at the mercy of the "shows" that "invite" them for challenging 15 second DEBATES..

The candidates and their campaings and the parties do NOT control the distribution of their message.. They must PAY for time on tv, UNLESS there is "negative news" about them.. The media runs with that, and the may be called to refute it..."10 seconds..outta time.."

and the Democrats look like deers in the headlights. Remember Watergate. Same thing, different day. The repubs just attack. They did it for 8 years of Clinton. They spend all their time attacking Democrats and covering up crimes of repubs
