He should be all over this issue today.

1. I have a feeling they are doing something today - interview, commercial,
meetings, I don't know. Just a guess.

3. According to the WP, Edwards said something yesterday:
From today's Washington Post article:

Rules for Overtime Pay to Take Effect

(snip)
Yesterday, Sen. John Edwards (D-N.C.), the Democratic vice presidential candidate, denounced the new regulations in the Democrats' weekly radio address. "If you work hard, then you should be rewarded for that effort," Edwards said. "Why would anyone support this new rule, which could mean a pay cut for millions of Americans who have already seen their real wages drop again this year?"

I think maybe it is time for Edwards to go on the attack. He seems to have more of a connection to people on issues like this.

4. He needs a break.
The last thing that we need is Kerry making verbal lapses because he's fatigued.

Kerry can make points on the overtime issue in speeches. Edwards has stepped up to the plate.

One of the duties of the handlers is to shepherd the candiate's energies.

I'd rather see Kerry be sharp (especially on unscripted media appearances) than lapse into his overly "nuanced" Senatese.

6. Isn't it traditional for Dem candidates to lay low during the Repug con-
vention, and vice versa?

7. Well, Bush was on vacation in Crawford during the Dem convention.
But Bush being on vacation isn't exactly news, is it?
