Calling On DU Researchers: Help!
The media keeps hammering home the story to viewers that Democratic 527's have spent 62 million dollars on negative ads against the "liar-in-thief."

But as we know, there are attack ads, and then there are SMEAR ads. The media doesn't even try to distiguish the two types of ads. It is completely fair to point out bad policies by this administration. This doesn't make them smear ads. To my knowledge the Dem 527's haven't once smeared Bush.

Bush has acted like a coward on this subject, not calling for the pulling of the Swift Boat Liars ads, but rather instead using this issue to call for the banning of all 527 ads.

I am calling on our illustrious researchers to chronicle all presidential ads, and to point out honest objections to policy, against any ads that smear either candidate so that we can debunk the notion that all ads are attack ads.

It would be helpful to have a complete list of both the 527 ads on both sides and ads made by the campaigns themselves.

Thank you for any help you can give me on this important matter.

Joe Fields
