We Gotta' Get Off Of This Jag!!!
Kerry is doing a very good job in going after Bush on the Swiftboat issue, but we gotta get off of this jag completely!! Thought this cycle of news would be about how so much is being uncovered regarding the lies of these men and their connections to the Bush campaign, the Tribune Editor's piece, etc. There is some of that, but the media is also sprinkling some red hot chili sauce on top of the pot to keep it boiling. Now, you know the drill!

The drill is to get the media sharks off a story by throwing them a fresh kill, bloody, gorey piece of meat, otherwise they will keep on going until they leave only a skelton in the water. Yep, Kerry has to attack BUT on a NON-Viet Nam issue and in a manner as vile as the SmearBoat Vets themselves. (Attacking Bush on his tax policies, views of Iraq, etc. don't cut the mustard in these shark invested waters any more).

Example (I use this just as an example and not a recommendation): Release an ad using Farenheit-9/11-like images. Link Bush ties and flow of money from the Saudis to the hijackers being from SA and the getting the bin Laden's out of the country, etc. and then at the end ask: "Is Bush our president--or is he the tool of an Arab nation??--Ask the Saudi Prince the Bush family calls Bander Bush".

The only way to get away from this jag that eventually is going to do deep harm (you know, if you see it on Teee-Veee it's the gospel truth) is to launch a new jag.

1. not until it's thoroughly addressed
right now, many people don't realize two things they need to realize. One, that the swiftboat guys are lying, and two, this is a Bush operation.

Until Kerry forces people to realize those things, we can't drop this.

2. I suggest going WITH the campaign on todays HIGH NOON challenge
Kerry Campaign to Issue 'High Noon' Challenge to Bush to Explain Why He is Making Life Harder for Middle-Class Families

"Instead of working to help Americans as they struggle to get by in this troubled economy, the current administration even went so far as to create a "How-to-Guide" for employers to advise companies on how to get out of paying workers their earned overtime pay."
****

Can we go with the direction of the campaign for once, or is it true about Dems being like trying to line up a bunch of cats in a row?

4. E-mails, etc?
What's the best way for DU'ers to support Kerry's "charging the beach" on this topic?

Or are we just helpless bystanders at the mercy of the media?

Honest question.

5. Actually, I think Kerry has done the right thing
He needed to look strong and he did by conterattacking Bush on the Swift Boats thing.

Now it's time to connect the dots between Bush's smears and the fact that Bush needs to distract the voters from his own record.

Bush has been incompetent in handling the war in Iraq.

And Bush's tax policies have caused and will continue to cause people to lose their good paying jobs to people overseas.

It's time to have a competent president who can keep us safe from terrorists as well as protect our jobs!!

6. see Walt Starr's thread
The perfect way to change the subject is to ask George W. Bush about his medals. He wore one he didn't earn, apparently.

And lying about medals runs in the Bush family.

Check it out.
