2. That doesn't count. I will accept the following:
"These men do not represent me, I resign the presidency as of noon tomorrow."

4. I don't know if they are. An earlier post pointed out that a CNN reporter
Edited on Mon Aug-23-04 01:12 PM by Brotherjohn
... (Jill Dougherty?) was specifically saying that he specifically did NOT denounce the ad, rather he again referred to 527 group ads in general.

And ABC is saying the same thing, taking pains that this amounts to nothing new from Bush:

AND I heard that the NYTimes pulled an earlier (mistaken) alert saying Bush was denouncing the ad.

5. Jill Dougherty came from many years in CNN's Moscow Bureau --
it will be interesting to see her cover this campaign for CNN domestic.

6. Yes I was part of that thread and I post that CNN debunked. . .
. . .but after they watched the video both the anchor and reporter concluded that he did in fact condemn that ad.

8. Nevertheless, I think everyone is seeing it as being wishy washy at best.
I mean, they have to review the tape to see whether or not he condemned the ad?

Bush is in retreat, and after reading the following article in USA Today, I get a sense that this issue is fading, and the CV coming out of it is that Bush went too far, and that Kerry is a genuine war hero.

10. I like the article, but the last sentence bugs me...
"Bush has himself been subjected to a multimillion-dollar barrage of attack ads aired by groups seeking to help Kerry win the White House."

What ads are these reporters talking about? The MoveOn ad does go after Bush and the National Guard, but what about the others? Are they talking about attack ads going after Bush on the issues? I wish there was a byline for that piece. The media needs to start asking the repubs--what attack ads?

7. It Is Not Close To Sufficient, Sir
Edited on Mon Aug-23-04 01:17 PM by The Magistrate
And does not seem to be being covered as sufficient, either. It is, in fact, a mere flip-flop, an attempt to be on both sides of the issue, and trim sails to the prevailing wind: just what one should expect from a cowardly draft dodger who is shivering in his purty little cow-boy boots at the prospect of a fight with a fellow who has actually shot men dead at point blank range....

9. Whatever Pres. Bush said must have been absolute brilliance
it was..it had to be 'CAUSE it looks like not even the whoring, panting Bush dog media can come to an agreement of whether he "did the deed or didn't". Did you say they are reviewing the "tape"--for Christ's sake what is this - the damn paid off judges in the Olympic Men's Overall Tumblebumble medal??? If they couldn't tell in person, it must be the most twisted piece of shit ever to come out of Bush's mouth. Now I wonder if it was designed that way or whether Bush just mangled it to shit as usual?!?!?!
