Does Ludacris actually WANT Obama to win?

If so.... Is he THAT fucking stupid?

Obama can't win unless a sizeable chunk of white America can be comfortable with him as President.

Ludacris' extreme assholishness does not help at all.

What an complete and total asshole.

1. He's just making dollar bills.
He's no politician or political mind.

5. Because his video will be played in the MSM for the next two weeks...

It's Rev. Wright coverage all over again.

8. Then let the MSM prattle on about it.
When it sticks here and in the blogs, it sticks in the MSM.

Guys like him talk tough, but they're really just big pussies.

Without his "entourage", nobody would be afraid of this prick.

4. No, Ludacris wants to promote himself and make shitloads of money.
Same as Rev. Wright, Pfleger, and anyone else who uses any sort of connection with Obama to draw attention to themselves.

7. Why would anyone care what a rapper says? Seriously if people are making decisions about their life
Edited on Thu Jul-31-08 08:29 AM by BrentTaylor
based on what he says. They have bigger problems

10. Because the MSM will be playing his lyrics on a continuous loop for two weeks....

...and many people are starting to pay attention to this election for the first time.

It's Reverend Wright all over again.

14. It sounds like you haven't been around for very many....
... election cycles. The opposition LIVES for this sort of shit.

It doesn't matter that some people who vote have "bigger problems"; what matters... at this point in time.... is that THEY VOTE.

9. Who cares? I hardly knew who he is/was and would like to keep it
that way. Obama disowned him. That's good enough for me.

"As Barack Obama has said many, many times in the past, rap lyrics today too often perpetuate misogyny, materialism, and degrading images that he doesn't want his daughters or any children exposed to. This song is not only outrageously offensive to Senator Clinton, Reverend Jackson, Senator McCain, and President Bush, it is offensive to all of us who are trying to raise our children with the values we hold dear. While Ludacris is a talented individual he should be ashamed of these lyrics."

11. Will the media LET Obama disown him?

They didn't let him disown Wright.

13. FUCK the media. We're talking about deciding on who is
going to run this country of ours. If the media wants to bash Obama 'by association' because he is familiar with a rapper, they have gigantic problems. I personally won't feed into their fake, molehill politics.

12. No. Just as 50 cent initially said he did not want Obama to win. 50 cent will probably be out
next with his own rap song.

15. I know most
on DU would like to ignore this, but the problem is - it's BAD. The msm is NOT going to ignore it. I really don't understand why that idiot put such incendiary lyrics out there at this time. WHY????? I don't get it. It has nothing to do with Obama, and it has everything to do with Obama.

I want Obama to win in November and this really pisses me off. What an asshole indeed!!!!!

16. My guess is Obama will wait to see if this resonates.
If it does, Ludacris will be in for more serious treatment by Obama than the perfunctory disassociation press-release issued yesterday (?). In other words... Sista Souljah revisited. ( Could be an opportunity for Obama, actually.)

Hope it's not too late by then.

As to whom Ludacris prefers.... I doubt if he's given the matter that much thought. Probably Obama, but my guess is he's oblivious.

17. I don't think he cares about the election in any way.
Like most entertainers, Ludacris is all about making money and self promotion.

"Celebrity says something stupid about politics" isn't exactly a new phenomenon.

And on a deeper note, please tough up a bit. Politics ain't beanbag.

I don't think he gives a rat's ass about Obama, other than to ride on his name right now.
