their necks? If it is true that anyone making more than 23,000 per year is affected, then I would think this would be like a bicycle under the Christmas tree for the Democrats? They will lose the votes of not only those that are affected by the law, but the families and friends of those people. This could put the House and Senate in play for real. Are the Repubs trying to lose?? Sure seems like it.

1. They assume no one will notice or care

until it affects them and expect employers to wait until after the election. Then, it will be too late.

DOnt forget when they first floated this the Labor Department (I think) sent out a letter to employers 'advising' them of how it would be handled and how they could avoid overtime pay under the new rules.

Don't forget, polls say over 50% of the country still thinks there were WMD's in Iraq.

6. the problem is that these rules won't actually start to kick in
until after the election. The scumbuckets who pushed for this stuff are the same scumbuckets who want Chimp elected for another 4 miserable years, and they're not going to upset the apple cart.

3. I do the Payroll for my company.
In the last bulletin we got it says that all positions will be looked at to see who will be reclassified. It also says that anyone affected will be notified by their manager at the end of the year. So I am thinking that Bush hopes that no one will notice too much because he hopes to win and then the people affected will be identified after the election. What Kerry and other Democrats need to do is keep pushing this issue and talking about it as much as they can. There are not too many people I know that make less than $23,000 a year. This will affect A LOT of people and this point needs to be made often!

4. Well speaking as a Union man
who is scheduled for overtime every other week, I know that I am not a happy man about this shit. Ours is safe for the time being because it has been bargained into the contract, and the guy who runs our company actually gets it. But it could very definitely affect some of our supervisors who are not covered under the Union contract. In fact, I honestly think it will, and then we will be looking for at least two new people. The fact is, if a person doesn't care about his or her job because of regulations, or whatever, they will not be as productive. Go to www.afl-cio.org for more info. We can, and will beat this thing. We need Unions now more than ever. And make sure to ask any candidate who is running for Senate or House in your state/district how they feel about it. If they are like Grassley, who voted straight along repub party line, then throw the bums out.

It won't affect us, but it sounds absolutely shitty to me.

8. The press could be talking about this, which affects millions, but SBVT...
is apparently more important news.
