I keep hearing shrubCo saying there's no connection between his campaign and the SBVFT, but his main backer is a strong shrub backer, Rove appears to be friends with everybody, etc.

I have no idea if the sponsors of MoveOn fit that same description or not.

What actually constitutes a "connection"?

4. Application on the same day? Doesn't look good to me!
Yes, this does look like a connection.

if the complaints have to go through the FEC, I guess nothing will happen anyway. Wish it could go to court!

2. MoveOn was started in '98, long before Kerry
Swiftboats got together with Bush-connected people, and were gathered by them, after Kerry was sure to be the nominee. Get it? One is involved in issues and causes that are liberal and progressive, the other is strictly for attacking a candidate.

As for some of the others, I don't know, but Swiftnumbnuts and MoveOn are two completely different animals.

7. The main MoveOn is a 501(c), only the MoveOn Voter Fund
is a 527.

MoveOn PAC is a PAC, and MoveOn PAC paid for the response the Swift Boat ad.

3. One of the people appearing in it was a campaign advisor for Bush.
He did resign. They denied knowing he was involved with the Swift Boat guys, and said well he wasn't paid anyways. Was just a volunteer. That story was out over the weekend. Of course.

6. hate to be the cynic but....
Seems to me if the FEC rules, it will be 3 publicans vs. 3 Democrats. Unless there is some sort of paper trail we won't see anything come of this crap.
