The Republican Party has drawn the battle lines for November, and they're hoping morality will be the deciding factor to swing voters their way in the general election.

U.S. Rep. Jo Ann Emerson, who attended the rally in support of Mayer, said it's the Republican candidates who share southeast Missouri's "common sense conservative values."

"There's a lot of jobs in Missouri we lost between 2001 and late 2003," said Mayer. At one time, Missouri led the nation in job loss, he said, but things have since changed.
