In too many cases, there is weak criticism of the regulatory changes or tax code changes that have been adopted so far. Instead, I believe there needs to be more attention paid to the regulatory changes and tax cuts that Bush TRIED TO GET PASSED but failed. The final versions were often compromises. We need to emphasize the fact that Bush tried to get tax cuts for the rich that were twice as large as what was passed. That he tried to cut overtime for many more workers than were eventually affected by the final bill. He proposed much more harmful environmental regulatory changes than have been put into place so far.
These attempts at passage give a better indication of the types of policies George the Second will try to get passed in a second term if he has a solidly Republican Senate, House and Supreme Court.
