Bush to Stump in 8 States on Way to NYC
http://story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&ncid=703&e=1&u=/ap/20040824/ap_on_el_pr/bush

CRAWFORD, Texas - Voters in eight battleground states will be getting a rolling preview of the Republican National Convention in New York City when some of its most prominent speakers join President Bush (news - web sites) for a pre-convention campaign swing.

Those traveling with the president include high-profile, independent-minded politicians who could expand his base of support: Rudy Giuliani, the former New York City mayor who led the city's recovery after the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks; Sen. Zell Miller (news, bio, voting record), a Georgia Democrat who backs Bush; Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney, who has opposed gay marriage in his state; and Arizona Sen. John McCain (news, bio, voting record), a staunch supporter of the president's policies in Iraq (news - web sites).

Bush will visit New Mexico, Florida, Ohio, West Virginia, New Hampshire, Michigan, Tennessee and Iowa before arriving in New York to accept the party's nomination on Sept. 2.

3. Thank God he is not coming here.
Ok Coloradoans. Kerry came here before the Dem convention. Bush isn't before the repub. Kerry has been in this state 3 times in 2 months. Bush: not at all. Edwards will be here for the third time in a little over a month later this week. Cheney has been here once. Think about that.
