I can't BELIEVE what I just saw on CNN....
Talk about damned if we do, damned if we don't....

This was about an hour ago, on CNN, they were doing a story on the middle class and how their top issues are jobs and healthcare, and the future, and then, I kid you not, the guy doing the story said: but neither party is talking about these things or the future, they're talking about issues of 35 years ago...

Jobs! Healthcare! The future!!! Listen to Kerry, idiots at CNN. This IS the dem platform!!!!

But CNN refuses to show coverage of kerry talking about that stuff, they only get interested when somebody brings up this swiftboat/smear baloney.

The media is really killing this country.

9. It sucks doesn't it.
The banner on Fox (not the crawl) keeps flashing great quotes from Kerry's speech (paraphrasing) "Bush can't talk about the issues", "Bush can't do this, Bush can't do that." It's pretty sad when Fox show less of a bias than CNN.

10. I have to agree with the guy on CNN. The SBVFT got all the press!
The SBVFT spent about $70,000 on this ad, but the media picked it up and had it on every show! Kerry had to respond! Kerry was talking about the things that matter, everywhere he stopped, but the media changed the topic.

It looks like, today, Kerry has gone back to the important topics, and has challenged shrub to do the same. What he really has to do is challenge the media to do that as well. We'll see if it works.

13. Excellent point. "I challenge the media to take the high road and talk
about the real ISSUES effecting Americans today" ~ John Kerry.

14. OK. Stop quoting Kerry on things he never said
I've seen that a few times over the past few days...it's really annoying because it sometimes leads others to believe he actually said those things, they want sources, etc., etc.

So why not just say, "Kerry should challenge the media...."

12. Send them a copy of the speech they cut away from ... here:
http://www.johnkerry.com/pressroom/speeches/spc_2004_0824.html

As President, I will put the middle class first. John Edwards and I have a plan to cut taxes for the middle class and working families – to help them pay for health care, child care, and sending a son or daughter to college.

When we talk about the economy, we talk about jobs. But there is another side to the economy where there is a fundamental choice – and that is health care. When health care is more expensive…when co-pays and deductibles go through the roof…businesses, especially small businesses, are burdened by staggering health care costs. And that makes it harder to hire workers, harder to grow and harder to expand.

In the last four years, four million people have lost their health insurance. 44 million Americans are now without any health coverage at all. And middle class families are struggling to afford health costs that are going through the roof. Today, we have an administration that puts the interests of HMOs and big drug companies over the interests of patients and seniors and health care providers.

In a Kerry-Edwards Administration, we will see to it that that America is no longer the only industrialized nation in the world that doesn’t understand that health care is not a privilege for the wealthy, the connected and the elected – it is a right for every single American.

We have a plan to get the greed and waste out of the system – and save the average family up to $1,000 a year in their premiums. At the same time, we will make health care affordable and accessible for all. Under our plan, you will get to pick your own doctors – and doctors and patients, not insurance company bureaucrats, will make medical decisions. You will be able to buy less expensive medicines from countries like Canada. And instead of this Administration’s multi-billion dollar windfall for the big drug companies, we will pass a real prescription drug benefit for all seniors.

I'd say ... if you hadn't cut away from the speech - just after Faux, you'd know Kerry talks about "the issues"!

Stop regurgitating Bush talking points and do your friggin jobs CNN!

16. It is Shameful
And it is harmful to our survival as a free country when the 4th Estate so woefully fails to "report for duty". Instead of living up to their responsibilities as Journalists they spew sound bites, such as this. Perhaps their corporate handlers provide bonuses for misleading their audience. I cannot watch CNN any longer.
