LTE: A smoking gun effect?
A smoking gun effect

In The Sun (Aug. 21), we learn that a John Kerry activist from Gainesville has garnered irrefutable proof of illegal coordination between the Bush campaign and the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth.

This smoking gun consists of nothing less than a raw, uncensored SBVT flier sitting in plain view in the Alachua County Bush Headquarters.

This shocking revelation is unquestionably part of what The New York Times has breathlessly labeled the "web of connections" between the SBVT and the Bush campaign.

You can rest assured that clandestine Bush operatives are now scouring Kerry campaign headquarters looking for evidence of similar foul play by Democrats.

How long can it be before an equally incriminating MoveOn.org flier is located in some Democratic office?

Don't worry Bruce, this Kerry activist has got more than just a photo of the flyer, hanging up in GOP Headquarters, for evidence. I found an even big smoking gun yesterday. Someone in the GOP needs to start teaching their campaign workers a few things about election law.

As a matter of fact, these are not just a smoking gun, they're a smoking cannon.

3. Ho. Ly. SHIT.
I don't think the word 'cannon' conveys a big enough idea.

"nuke", perhaps. Do- ahem- Others know of this yet?

5. This only shows the SBV are playing off the Republican event
It does not really connect the two. The two are scheduled for different time periods. Unless both forms were signed by the same person I don't see how this is a direct connection.

7. Well, the Republican event was originally scheduled to overlap
But someone crossed out the "10 p.m." original time period, and changed it to 6 p.m. Perhaps because that would have overlapped with the Swifties? Either they changed it to accommodate the Swifties (which is coordination) or they had it scheduled so that the two events would go concurrently (which is also coordination).

Is that cordite I smell?

8. There are 4 different agreements
The groups are:

1. Alachua County Republican Exec Comm
2. Swift Boat Vets
3. Vietnam Vets Against Kerry
4. Veterans for Bush

All four agreements are signed by Dineen Wolfersheim. All four agreements use the same address, 1212 N. Main Street, the ACREC & Bush/Cheney Campaign Headquarters.
