Bush's Bogus Medals

http://www.buzzflash.com/contributors/04/08/con04346.html

In this picture, George W. Bush is wearing an Air Force Outstanding Unit Award (AFOUA - the wing) and a Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon (SAEMR).

Walt Starr is making a convincing case that Bush had no right to wear the AFOUA wing.

For the past month, the Swift Boat Vets have insisted Kerry did not legitimately earn his medals. Those assertions have all been discredited. Fairness now requires similar scrutiny to Bush's medals.

Wearing an unearned medal is certainly a "character" issue of the highest order.

In 1996, when Admiral Jeremy Boorda, Chief of US Naval Operations, was presented with evidence that he wore medals that he had not earned, he committed suicide in disgrace.

And this is not the first time a prominent Bush has been accused of unearned medals. Bush's grandfather Prescott was caught with bogus medal claims during WW I, a humiliation that drove him out of his home town of Columbus OH.

The media needs to demand the truth from Bush about his medals -- and about his still-unexplained grounding.

A BUZZFLASH GUEST CONTRIBUTION

1. The "wing" is not the AFOUA

The ribbon on the left (*'s Right) is the AFOUA. The one on the right is the marksmanship ribbon.

Just FYI

2. but he isnt making a convincing case
he has no evidence that the regs of the time didnt allow it and several veterans from that time say it was in fact allowed.

We look like the Swift Boat Liars in pushing these things without ironclad proof, and likely Walt Starr is just plain wrong from what I can tell.

3. The regs say now . . .
The regulations now state that Stupidhead shouldn't have been wearing the ribbon. Do you have a copy of the regs from that time that say differently? It would certainly be appreciated if you could supply such.

Oddly enough, I've come to distrust what "several veterans from that time" might say about anything.
