The First Legislation Obama Will Attempt To Pass Will Be: S-Chip, Stem Cell, & Healthcare
David Brooks was told this by someone within in the Obama camp. Brooks announced it on the "tell me something I don't know" segment on the Chris Matthews Show.

I think he'll be succesful with the first two bills, but healthcare could be a doozy. If he can pass anything even close to what he's been propsing, his first term would already be seen as more accomplished than either of Bush's two terms.

1. Those of us with family that could lengthen their lives by this
happening would salute him! I think this is grand! Bring on the stem cell research! :toast:

2. Yeah, it's been too long since science has been held hostage by the freepers and fundies.
How much deeper into hell will they drag all of us until they get it through their thick skulls that science actually helps us all and just because it somehow contradicts your world view, it sure doesn't prevent it from saving your fucking life. I don't get how people can claim that evolution doesn't exist and then accept all the medical breakthroughs that were only possible through the animal trials that allowed for it to go to human trials. Experimentation on animals would be illogical if it weren't for the fact that animals are our evolutionary cousins and thus, share enough similarities to be a good substitute in experiments.
